Since 1999, when the newly minted Stadum team embraced its mandate to breathe new life into the downtrodden neighbourhood, East Village’s transformation has been nothing short of remarkable.
The field of Law and Political Science is one of the important and attractive disciplines in the humanities. This scientific and influential field, because it deals with the management of society and the country at a macro level, attracts the smartest and most creative students.
The Faculty of Law and Political Science is one of the academic and administrative units that began its activities within Rana University based on the decision dated 19/11/1389 (approx. February 9, 2011) of the Commission for the Directorate of Private Higher Education Institutions and the decree dated 20/11/1389 (approx. February 10, 2011) of the Ministry. By the year 1402 (approx. 2023-2024), it had celebrated the eighth graduation cycle of its students. In addition to utilizing numerous contracted professors each semester, this faculty also benefits from a specialized and committed academic staff holding Master's and PhD degrees in the fields of Law, Political Science, and International Relations. Since its inception, it has been able to provide hundreds of educated and committed young people to the Islamic society of Afghanistan. The Faculty of Law and Political Science has an up-to-date curriculum, which was developed in 2019 by the esteemed Ministry of Higher Education using the educational standards of regional and extra-regional countries and was made available to all public and private universities in 2020. The Faculty of Law and Political Science at Rana University is proud to have implemented this curriculum since 2020.

In today’s rapidly changing world, where political, legal, and social developments are taking place at a fast pace, the role of universities especially faculties of law and political science has become more important than ever. They play a key role in analyzing issues, offering practical and research-based solutions, and supporting good governance. For this reason, the Faculty aims to respond to the needs of society and the country by promoting both theoretical and applied research, encouraging a culture of inquiry, and supporting interdisciplinary work.
At the same time, the Faculty has taken important steps to improve the quality of education. These include updating curricula in line with international standards, strengthening students’ analytical and practical skills, and expanding cooperation with national and international academic and research organizations. It is believed that combining education, research, and practical experience will help prepare a new generation of capable and responsible professionals who can contribute to justice, the rule of law, and sustainable development.
Faculty members, researchers, and students are expected to actively participate in academic and research activities and to uphold strong professional and academic values. Progress and success depend on joint effort and a shared commitment to ethical and academic standards.
