The Department of Communications was established within the framework of the Faculty of Journalism at Rana University in the spring of 2017 and strives to present specialized and professional personnel to society. Journalism students choose the Communications Department as an elective after the sixth semester and study communications-specific courses in the seventh and eighth semesters. The Communications Department has graduated 9 rounds, comprising 15 classes. This department, by accepting responsibility and with commitment, tries to provide services related to its field to society. The mission and duty of the Communications Department within the framework of the Faculty of Journalism is to educate the young generation and present them to public and private relations institutions in Afghanistan. In this way, on one hand, they become effective in advancing their own lives, and on the other hand, for the development and prosperity of public relations institutions. Through this, the Communications Department, as a scientific institution, fulfills its scientific and human responsibility.
A specific characteristic of this department is that teaching is conducted by specialized personnel at the Master's level and by full-time and contracted faculty members. Professors possess experience, expertise, and commitment. The Communications Department of the Faculty of Journalism, in order to achieve its goals, vision, and mission, which are in line with the strategic objectives of the Faculty of Journalism and Rana University, and to train specialized personnel in the journalism sector, has strived to attract professors who specialize in communications to the department. Teaching in this department is research-oriented and student-centered. The main focus is on students. Teaching in this department is done in both scientific and practical ways.
In order to achieve organizational development, the Department of Communications is committed to training students in various aspects of communication sciences and public relations for organizations using modern guidelines and presenting them to society.
